Merry Christmas!

Liz is fighting a cold but otherwise it's been a Christmas made-to-order. Evelyn loves her gifts, and to top it all off we've got snow!

Our thoughts are with all of you, friends and family. We wish we could be with you and we hope to see you very soon. Big hugs to everyone and have a joyous holiday season!

Holiday scramble

Hallo! Just wanted to post some nice pix of our recent fun times, as described by Mike's last post. Many more are up on Flickr now for November, and December's on its way! Also, for the record, the weather doesn't suck non-stop around here! There are cold but clear days amid the gray ones.

Mostly, we're busy scrambling to get ready for Xmas & New Year's...all of your cards are liable to be late, so don't hold your breath! We'll be lucky to get packages out to family in a timely manner. Having Rita get smashed up by somebody backing out of their driveway wasn't much help. We're also starting the interview process for a new Au Pair, as we will have to say good-bye to Sophie in the start of February. And we're in negotiations for a couple interesting opportunities for our business, too! Never a dull moment....

Hugs,
Liz

P.S. But I finally got a picture of Evelyn carrying around Miss Kitty & Huffy the Puppy:

The weather may suck, but life is good

Evelyn is morphing into a tiny human before our eyes. What a hoot. We're enjoying a wonderful run-up to the holidays and we hope you are too.

We went with a toddler-friendly tree this year. All the decorations are safe for small hands and we left the hanging hooks in storage. We've also written off tracking an accurate 1-to-1 association of bows to packages since bows have a tendency to wander away if you get my meaning if you catch my drift.

'Bada' Doug was here for a visit last weekend. We braved the rain to take in Zoo Lights at the Portland Zoo. What an awesome display of holiday luminescence and good cheer! I'm sure this will be the start of an annual family tradition.

This weekend we took a date night for ourselves and ate some tapas. Tonight we're watching Ratatouille on DVD.

The simple things are the good things. Give someone you love a hug!
